The ribbon on floor was formerly on the tree which is why Kitty was formerly known as Ribbon. Since 2007 Kitty, formerly known as Ribbon, has pulled the ribbon from the Christmas tree. I would like to re re brand her the New Ribbon, formerly known as Kitty, the Old Ribbon:)

So my mobile test with photo also went to drafts on blogger because of my settings.
this is a little outside seating area where I sat and tried to get my post to blogger. It was taking far too long with too many attempts and then my daughters asked me to go for a walk. it was at that time that I located the blackberry app for word press. and while walking with my daughters i was a little distracted by creating a new blog,

I did send a test post using the email method however has not arrived to my blog yet. It is out there somewhare in blogdom. I must do some searching for a meme or mobile photo project. It was a year ago today that I started my blog " What's Next Shelby Lynne?"

I had taken a little, well a rather long break from blogging for quite some time. I had occasionally taken the wordzzle challenge words and scratched some things down but never actually posted them. I have since moved to Beaver Pond with Darcy, he found Turtle pond a little crowded. I questioned whether or not I should spend my time sitting at the computer to participate in the Wordzzle Challenge.

Tonight I sit here with an Aww feeling because of the date which I randomly sat down to post on "What's Next Shelby Lynne?" Which is normally just a Saturday thing. I posted the very first post on 20.7.09

and Tonight , 20.7.10
is exactly A year ago. I thought that was kind of neat.
I posted what I had written in a notebook for the wordzzle challenge a couple weeks ago on a trip up to Cape Breton where I snapped the "Lobster uppers" picture for todays wordless wednesday # 22.

Looking at the above dates I feel good about taking the time to ask "What's next Shelby Lynne?"

I have signed up with the C-Cell Blasters for the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life for the second year. With only 15 days left till the event on June 4th, I was going to say that I signed up late. However, it is never too late to support a good cause.

Today I took the bus home, but felt like taking a detour instead. I transferred to a different bus, crossed the bridge, and walked down towards the Historic Properties of Halifax. I sat by the boardwalk and watched a few people walk by. Amazed how quiet it was while people were still in their office space, and the evening commute home had not yet started for most of them. i wondered what Julia @ A Piece of My Mind was doing and if she was packing up for the day yet.I stopped into a book shop located in the Historic properties. Read the titles, fanned through and looked at some of the historic pictures, Books pirates, the titanic, Halifax explosion, Acadian Expulsion, Pier 21 and the war brides. So happy that I have had the opportunity and the freedom to live in such a great place. I got a feeling as I walked past the patios with chairs and tables ready, it will be an exciting place to be this summer, and I have not even looked into what events will be taking place. It was just an 'I love Halifax' feeling and a nice little random wandering, before I got back on the bus to go home. It was like I stopped to smell the roses, where there were no roses, until a lady got on the bus carrying a single white rose home in her water bottle. I did not ask if I could smell her rose, I was just happy for her that she was blessed with a rose today.

100+ books

If I am to achieve my goal of reading 100+ books ( motivational /positive thinking/ Spiritual growth type books) in 2010 I need to up it up a bit. I thought I had been doing well to this point. However, the individual books of the bible don't count, this brings the book count down a bit.

I have read 16 books since January 1/2010, although I think I may have missed putting a couple on my list. In fact I'm quite positive about that. Yeah the books are already working. I have 84 books to be read over the next 8 months, that's 10 and half books a month. I will be looking at type size and number of pages for four quick reads, to bring it down to 10 a month. A book every three days. That is a lot of time reading. I will call it time well invested investing in myself.

I was reading The Magic of Team Work by Pat Williams today, where he wrote " NFL great Bill Glass once told me that " if you read five books on any one subject, you'll be considered a world-leading authority on that subject."
Imagine me four months into 2010 and I am already a world-leading authority. :) I'm thinking that reading is one thing and apply the principles read is another.

I'm quite certain I read somewhere in the past couple of months the phrase, Knowledge is power, is not completely true. knowledge is only potential power until motion is applied.

Yikes, that means if i am not careful the laws of gravity may take hold of my stored energy, generating gravitational energy causing me to spend the entire year just sitting down.

To ensure that gravity does make me sit for the entire year. I must stand so I can fall down. I will not fall on my face. As a human I have this natural instinct to break my fall. When I fall forward I always seem to stick my foot out.
It goes some thing like this;
fall forward... put my foot out. fall forward... put my foot out. fall forward... put my foot out.
One foot in front of the other. oh why look at that. I'm walking. The baby steps of my 2010 pursuit. yes it's May I'm a late bloomer if we are talking Christmas Cactus' in January. But being May I will call myself an early bloomer of spring.

2010 100+ Reading Challenge.

My random wandering in blogdom lead me to this reading challenge being hosted by Home Girls Book Blog.
I had mentioned in my previous post, Me Dancing Warrior, that In the first four months of 2010 I have read more positive thinking, self help, motivational books than all of 2009. I think this will fit in fine with what I had already started on my own at the beginning of the 2010.
I have not yet decided how or where will be listing those already read up to this point.

1. The goal is to read 100 or more books. Anyone can join. You don't need a blog to participate.

I started 2010 in pursuit of Courage so I would have courage to pursue dreams.

The easiest way to find courage is to look it up in the dictionary.

courage: the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.

It is located between coup stick;

coup stick: a stick with which some North American Indian warriors sought to touch their enemies in battle as a sign of courage.

and courante;

courante: a dance dating back to the 17th century and characterized by a running or gliding step.

In the first four months of 2010 I have read more positive thinking, self help, motivational books (whatever you want to call them) than all of 2009 (I had read more than one). I could set a goal for the remainder of 2010 to read every positive thinking book on my shelf. At the end of the year I will have gained an incredible amount of knowledge and insight. I love having knowledge and insight. However, my goal is not knowledge and insight my goal was to pursue dreams, which back in January I decided required courage.

When it comes to courage I am at a stand still. I have the quality of mind or spirit that enables me to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear;
Here I stand with courage
face to face with difficult times,
dangerous times,
painful times,
etc, etc, etc.
I will not back down.
Without fear
I have a face of courage.
Here I stand with courage,

Gaining knowledge and insight

In my pursuit of courage, I've discovered courage and recognize the difficulties, dangers and pain that I must face and have faced.
I have discovered courage between coup stick and courante.

In pursuit of courage I over looked the importance of pursuit.

I can stand with courage all day. At the end of the day I'm still standing there unless I move and start the pursuit.

Can one be in pursuit of pursuit? mmm... That seems like chasing your own tail twice as fast.

I think I need to refer back to the original quote:

With best intentions I posted the 2009 Blog Improvement banner.

2009 also brought a Wife Improvement Banner and a Mom Improvement Banner. Then there is the 2009 ME Improvement Banner. A banner of banners to represent goals in the various aspects of life, From health and wellness, attitude, to being a better example. As part of the ME Improvement banner, I bought my first pair of sneakers in about 7 years. I'm thinking they should come included with a "Just Do iT" banner. I have wrapped myself up in so many banners I am spending more time organizing the banners than attaining goals on them...

I must reassess my approach for 2010.

Today I brought out an "English Summer Rose" teacup and saucer that belonged to my nanny. I lost my nanny to cancer when I was seven. How I would love to be having tea in her rose garden in Wolfville.
I have been having coffee in big spill proof mugs and drive thru cups for so long I thought I sliced my tongue with the first sip. It made me think of how I have allowed life to become so focused on daily survival. Thick skinned like a hefty coffee mug that can withstand the sharpness of a razor tongue. So thick and sturdy that it can hold a hardened heart.

Having a sip from that teacup reinforces my desire and longing to soften my heart and spirit, smooth the edges on my tongue that I have allowed this world and my actions to sharpen. I just had a thought that it was like God whispering to me. Fill your cup and learn again to sip softly, you are my child and I do not want you to hurt yourself or others with harsh words and a razor tongue.

Whether it be refraining from the use of harsh hurtful words or partaking in gossip I was reminded that kind words should be used everyday and around everyone even when I talk to myself. I can be harder on myself than anyone I know.

While Wandering Around looking for participants of the Portrait of words, I got stuck on Quilly's blog for a few posts. I decided to tag myself for the book meme. It's been a while (April 10,2009) since I have done a book meme, and the books we have laying around are normally good for my thought patterns. Change of thought patterns is much needed today.

I can Never find my camera which is why I have not done much with pictures lately. Jeepers I don't even do much Twittering.

I have been Working from the evening into the Night for the summer, so I did not have to put older daughter in day camps, It's taking a toll. I am finding out that I cannot not go 24 hours without Sleep or to do anything that I really want to do. As Summers go, This will not be a banner one for my older daughter, I'm sure she would have preferred day camps. But maybe she doesn't mind staring at me while I sleep in the morning, waiting for me to wake up to do something with her. I had planned on keeping my youngest home till after lunch a couple of days a week, however My husband gets my youngest daughter off to the sitter's on his way to work to allow me to get some sleep in the morning, which has resulted in me only seeing my youngest daughter on weekends.

Was going to nights for the summer the best thing? Who knows? Last night when I got home from work. My Youngest daughter woke up and wanted to stay up with me for a bit, so at 3:30 am, instead of winding down with Facebook applications of FarmTown, I'm Fickle Pickle If you ever see me in the Market, or Farmville, which ever one has crops ready, I got to listen to Super Why? songs on PBS KIds DOt ORG and, curl up on the sofa for a snack, then fall asleep watching Treehouse TV. Probably close to the same thing I would do in the evening after working a day shift. The difference with doing this buddy time in the middle of the night, Everyone else was asleep, she was refreshed by a good nap and I was still wired from getting home from work. It was a nice to see her before the weekend, when it is it is not just her that wants my attention.
I do feel guilty sending Sarah To the sitters when I am at home. It is difficult to keep my eyes on a busy four year old who can create an absolute mess of when your not looking, it's hard to look if your eyes are closed for sleep. With seven years between my two Daughters my older one allows me to sleep until about lunch time. We then spend a couple of hours trying to decide what we have time to do before I have to go to work.

Anyway Enough Random for now. That's how our summer Is going. Why am I not doing something more, or different so that I can be a stay at home mom that makes money?

Today Is Natal Day in Halifax/ Dartmouth. We had a few trips in July to the Museum of the Atlantic, so for the most part are sitting out on the scheduled activities,other than sitting in traffic created by the various events. With our places of work it is business as usual, so does not seem like a day of celebration, other than,Yippee! we get to go to work. While others have the opportunity to get out and spend their hard earned dollars to keep the economy going. It would be nice to have the summer off. Maybe I should look into teaching so I can have that summer vacation, which I'm sure is full of planning for the following school year and taking one's turn with summer schools.

The Halifax Public Gardens officially opened in 1867 it is an example of a formal Victorian public garden that has weathered many storms in the city of Halifax. For my generation it was Hurricane Juan Sept 2003. Thanks to all those who picked up the pieces so the rest of us can continue to enjoy.

Some of the collages were posted throughout the week, some were not.

Why all the collages?

Because sometimes I take 250 pictures and only share one of them.
The butterfly pictures were taken at the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History.
The moth pictures were taken just outside the door and on the Path to Pixie World

On the Path to The Museum of Natural History we passed some other Critters

The Halifax Junior Bengal Lancers was founded as a non-profit society in 1936.

The Stables were built in 1908!
I'm not sure if the building is actually listed as a historical property. I'm Thinking it should be. They are in need of repair with the primary goals of bringing the building up to code and making it Wheel chair Accessible.
Wheel chair accessible would be good considering there has had a therapeutic riding program there since the late 1960's for children and young adults with disabilities.

How could Shelby Lynne find happiness in 12 going on 13 with such fragmentary information about why she has to spend summer at Aunt Bessie’s. Her Aunt Bessie seems skillful with delegation, but does not complain about her arthritis when making her secret corn pone recipe. Shelby Lynne watched the butterflies on the magenta flowers while picking nectarines wishing she could be home with the prancing horses.

Adjusting her lavender cowboy hat Shelby remembered when she was little and used to drape her Zebra print area rug over the teeter-totter to pretend she was jumping over the moon. Her imagination seemed to be preparation for joining the Junior Bengal Lancers.

Mega Challenge

Looking at the photos of the prancing horses, Shelby Lynne was over the moon to receive a box of belongings from her mother. Removing her Lavender cowboy hat she spread out her zebra print area rug. Taking a bite of the corn pone smeared with stewed nectarines, Shelby Lynne opened the magenta envelope to reveal writing paper with butterflies on the border and more fragmentary information. Reading about her mother’s involvement with the preparation of her uncles' estate, apparently complications from arthritis. Shelby Lynne questioned whether it was family delegation or an act of volunteering that kept her mother absent. Shelby Lynne was hoping to find a renewed happiness in 12 going on 13 while spending the summer at Aunt Bessie cabin.

By far the largest moth I have ever seen. I'm assuming it's a polyphemus moth, a giant silk moth. Probably quite common but I had never seen one before.
I almost stepped on it, Which is why I used a plant stem to try and move it.
It must not have like my choice of plant. It preferred to find its way to my my thumb.
Creepy miniature suction cup freak out time.
It did fly off to another location where others would not step on it.
My daughter called it a tarantula-butt-moth because it's body and legs were so huge and furry.

I am still wondering about the classification of moths and butterflies. What it the Key defining Characteristic that says I'm a butterfly versus I'm a moth. If it has half butterfly characteristics and half moth characteristics is it classified in one category before the other, What order are the characteristics looked at. If you know or have a good link for this information you can leave it in the comments.
Although I found it resting in the day and its wings were upright together the other characteristics are definitely moth moth moth.

Seems to be much easier to catch up with moths than butterflies.
I took a picture of one that will be in a collage tomorrow that had me a bit confused as to whether it was a moth of butterfly. According to the list below displayed characteristics of both moth and butterfly. Hope you stop back tomorrow.

According to my World Book Encyclopedia 1987
There are four main differences between butterflies and moths.
1) Most butterflies fly during the day time. Most moths fly at night.
2 The majority of butterflies have knobs at the end of there antennae. Most moths antennae are not.
3) Most butterflies have slender, hairless bodies. Most moths have plump, furry bodies.
4) Most butterflies rest with wings upright over their bodies and most moths rest with their wings stretched flat.

The chrysalis or cocoons are shipped from England every two weeks.
Once they arrive they are hung in the emerging chamber. As the butterflies emerge they are released into the Butterfly house.

She did not have a clue how to read the ladder structure price grid. She did notice that Michael Jackson CD’s were not located in the economy section.

Mega Challenge

The summer job was to compensate for the Economy sucking away her allowance. Shelby had no clue it would be so Hot. Wearing a lampshade, would have offered more protection than this visor, Shelby chuckled as she imagined herself in the field wearing the lampshade from the drugstore. It’s a good thing the structure of the bushes doesn’t require a ladder, I ‘d look like a lamppost. Laugh and the world laughs with you, or at you? Shelby gave another chuckle and adjusted the volume on the Michael Jackson tunes. The screech of the keyboard was now louder than the owl, which was like a knight standing guard over the Blueberries. The decoy allowed more berries to reach their peak, less spoilage and more sober birds.

I would like to have more time to explain some of the pictures but have to run for bus so am not late for work.

Still sorting things out had to uninstall a number of programs only to find that there was no room to reinstall:( . Music to my ears, she thought as memories flooded her mind of the operatic waltz for the father daughter dance. She could have waited thirty years, in his eyes she would always be a child bride. She now found herself in a holding pattern above Florida. She opened the file sent from the superintendent at the office. It would be too busy when she landed to pick out that one powerful shot that captured it all. Not to be a braggart, she looked like a super model among the twilight glow of twinkle lights in ginger jars. They complimented the sunflowers perfectly. Then she noticed the flower girls plot against her, she had spit in every picture!

For me a Fun Dip represents a hot summer day walking to the corner store to get as much candy as you could for the little pocket change your parents would give you.
The Fun Dip packet contains a candy stick, a lik-a-stik, that you dip into the flavored sugar. It was kind of a luxury candy for times when you had more change than normal to put towards the candy binge.

My other contribution to Summer Stock Sunday;

Is Hot Dogs from the street vendors hot dog cart.

Some where under all the condiments there was a hot dog.

Housekeeping could not keep up with the Chorus line as they circled the larger than life jack-in-the-box with increased speed. They followed their routine to the letter, until they bumped into the buffet, made of marble from a quarry in Iran, apples and puddles of clam chowder were everywhere.

Finally a Chorus line dressed as blue jays would end the event.
Setting the letter down, the agency supervisor wondered if housekeeping would be responsible for wiping up Puddles?

Charlie and I have Our 14th Wedding Anniversary tomorrow.

Trying to decide on a movie to see. I didn't watch the Drag Me to Hell trailer, I did not believe Charlie when he told me it was a romantic comedy and it would be good for anniversary celebration. Gee hon, I don't think I've Dragged you to hell?
Possibly a subtle hint lets go to a movie, but not a chick flick.
I don't think that either of us would enjoy a horror flick.

How about this one, single and a half cream half milk half sugar? and you complained they didn't get it right?

I have heard, but have never seen, that the term Double Double, has been placed in Canadian dictionary, meaning two cream, two sugar
This Coffee Talk happens all accross the country every morning, then at lunch and someties on the commute home. That's alot of coffee.

That's alot of money on coffee. a large coffee $1.54 once a day based on a 30 day month for one person = $46.20. lets say $50 because you tip.

If you have a partner times that by 2. i'll do the math $100.

And what if you both sneak a coffee in the after noon . $100 x2 = TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS on coffee a month!

That is not counting the Saturday/ Sunday mornings when you have two children with you and you add a box of doughnut holes and hot chocolate to the order.

Insane. It's like I work outside of the home so I can drink coffee?

In my purse I now carry teabags and a small jar of instant coffee and pay 0.15 for a splash of cream. 0.15 *30 days *2xaday =$9 month + box of tea and small jar of coffee, say about $10.00 Total $19.00 for the month.

So have I cut down on coffee consumption, you bet! Do i still go thru a drive thru? you bet! just not everyday twice a day.

The biggest thing about being an intern in the plumbing industry is learning to bow gracefully, rather than squat to prevent plumber butt during waste import from the house sewer to the tank truck.

Ten Word Challenge: sow, close, console, lives, minute, polish, bass, pussy, complex, resume

So lives the sow, seemingly with a life not so complex, stopping a minute to snort here and there, then resume the scratch which adds a polish to the brass latch. Do they know when their time is close? Is it the pussy willow that offers console when snorting there?

Mega Challenge:

Trying to find her purpose as she adds polish to brass ornaments, ensuring she does not get any on the entertainment console. Pausing a minute to straighten the pussy cat’s bow, who has been studying her cleaning rag like an intern. She must resume her task as she ponders complex questions such as; who harvested the first seeds to sow? Do they grow better when planted close to a sewer? How did she get here? Is she just an import who’s only purpose is to improve the lives of those who dwell I this house? Thinking, she is like a seed to sow, and her life like a sewer, she really hopes they grow better when planted close together.

I Want... Wednesdays

I have been searching for different memes at THE DAILY MEME, Keeping things random with my wandering thoughts.

I Want... Wednesdays meme kind of ties in with a new bucket list that I created a couple of weeks ago.

#10 Complete the Rubik's cube with out taking it apart or changing the stickers.
I was told that YouTube videos are good for that.

#11 Take the Via Rail across Canada. Where I am No longer able to take Via Dayliner to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. I will need to make up for all those missed trips by taking one big long trip across Canada and back. I hope Via has wi-fi? I think of this often. How nice it would be to just hang around on a train. I would not get bored as some people might.

#12 Become fluent in French. In Nova Scotia when I went to school mandatory to take french from Grade three to grade 8, past that grade it is optional. I went to french class for a total of nine years and am not bilingual. I would like to have the opportunity to go to adult french immersion classes.

I believe those were the only three items that I thought of today for the bucket list. Again Items that do not need to wait until I am ready to kick the bucket.

It's all about making a decision and doing it!

Just a simple poem as I wandered home. What ever happened today is done.
Tomorrow we can choose to turn our face to the sun again or walk in the shadows.
legthening shadows, the passing of time. Another day is done.
In the go to work,come home then go to work again, It's hard to say if anyone has won.
One of the most wonderful things is to just close your eyes with your face to the sun.
Close out the noises of the world, work that has or has not been done.
In good time and bad, Be thank ful and greatful for what you have.

The little princess lunch box and the baby carrier were two items that Sarah needed help to Lock the Latches and clasps. The baby carrier is not a toy so was under constant watch while she was wearing it. This carrier has been used for 5 different children over the last 12 years and is still holding strong.

My video hand is not very steady but Kitty is still SO CUTE!

We got a little bit sidetracked while sorting through Emily's boxes of Artwork when we came across her baby items. This is a sweater and bonnet set was made by Dorothy, a customer who frequented the book store that I worked in at the time. Kitty, So Cute and probably thankful the booties and mitts to the set were some where else among the doll clothes.
The music playing is Elton John a Song from his Duets CD that was found in one of the boxes of artwork.

We still have four boxes of Pre K to Gr 5 artwork and school lessons to sort through an purge. Harder for me to purge items than Emily. Although we got sidetracked, Emily really enjoyed the time of just the two of us, reviewing the time of her life when she was an only child. When Sarah got home from the Sitters later in afternoon. Emily was an excellent big sister after having a day that became focused on her rather than the task of getting the artwork sorted.

A few weeks past I looked through A National Geographic magazine from 1973(oldest mag I've seen in a waiting room).
I made a point to compare the Special K ad of then and now.
Only really noticed the teaspoon of sugar being cut from serving suggestion and calorie count.
Something I would not have noticed or done if was not always looking for silly bloggy things.

A New Bucket List.

A while back I was tagged on Facebook for a cut and paste bucket list. I thought It was an interesting list of things, some things I had done and some I hadn't. Other things just absolutely no interest in at all. I really had never heard the term "Bucket List" before. Until I watched the Bucket List movie starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. Maybe that's where the term came from?

The movie really got me to thinking as to what I have done with my life up to this point.
What choices and decisions have I made that have gotten me to where I am.
What dreams have I given up on, forgotten about, waited for someone to give me permission to do. How strange that someone would actually feel as though they need someone's permission to move forward in life, live for a dream, be happy, have a worth while passion to work towards.
Why should I wait until my dying days to start doing things that I have always wanted to do? Whose permission am I waiting for anyway? I noticed that a lot of blogs, Social Media, are set up for professional use and to make money. Not so with mine. Sure I've set up Google Adsense. Haven't made and money from it. It's my blog of random wandering thoughts. The ads tend to cater to my likings, I'm just not supposed to click on them.

So many other areas of my life are for other people. I have always considered my blog a starting point for rediscovery of self. Imagine I signed up for the 2009 Blog improvement and it has Taken me half a year to really discover/ remember the purpose of my blog and why I started it.

A lot of things I have wanted from a very young age, was provided a negative response so never pursued or lacked belief and encouragement that I could.
Maybe that is why the need to get permission has been there? Do I have the courage to pursue? Why do so many others just do things, get it done, they have a dream, a goal, an idea and they do it. I so admire those people. People with courageous spirits. They don't let doubt, fear of failure or fear of success hold them back. No matter what others think or what obstacles get in their way.

Well... Here I am now. Whatever choices and experiences have brought me to this point.
I have been thinking about some things that I have always wanted to do and strangely the
Buddist Proverb “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear” comes to mind.

My Bucket List

1. Go on a mission. - Yesterday My youngest daughters Child Care Provider told me about a Mission to Haiti in 2010.
2. Take part in an Archeology dig - Apparently this is avail for volunteers in Amherst N.S
3. Be involved on a movie set and be in a movie - Still working on ideas to accomplish this?
4. Write something that someone wants to publish, not something that I self publish. As a young adult I prayed to God for a typewriter so that I could write something. Two days later a family member carried one through the door. It broke after a few key strokes. It was still an answered prayer of "You will write...but not yet.". Still working on ideas here too.
5. Study astronomy and learn more constellations.
6. Start collecting Postage Stamps again.
7. Improve sewing skills so that can design and sew at least one ready-to-wear outfit and possibly one that looks like piece of art from an huate couture line.
8. Have a home that is self sufficient. From windmills and solar panels to free range chickens and a garden.
9. Thinking about whether I want a piece of paper issued from a university with my name on it. I could always apply. The sorry to inform you letter would have my name on it.
10. ? To be continued...

The more I add to the list the more I realize they are all do-able things. They are not extravagant and impossible. It's just a matter of making a decision to get started and fitting things in amongst all my 2009 improvement banners.

Now really how difficult is it to hand write a letter and hope to get one back with a fascinating stamp on it?

Yesterday I had a bus incident where the bus driver opened the door and gave me a blasting about waving my arms to halt the bus. She harshly mentioned that she had been sitting there for four minutes and I was on the on the wrong side of the platform. I attempted to explain to her that I had to cross the road, and that I was a bus length away when she pulled off. I was waving my arms to get her attention as she came around the turn to exit the bus station.

I have a car, I know that vehicles have blind spots. I can just imagine how big the blind spots are for a bus. I understand that she had not seen me, I was not angry at her for that. All I knew was that I had to get that bus because Emily could not walk any further, she was having some back pains, associated with her bicycle incident that she had back in April, as well as a sore dry throat (turned out to be strep). I realize the bus driver does not have X-ray vision to see that I could not run or walk any faster due to surgery that I had two weeks ago, and she did not immediately see Emily, who was straggling about fifty feet behind because of her condition. Should we have been taking the bus in our condition? probably not, should the pedestrian crosswalks be examined for that location, probably.

The thoughts of the incident lingered for a couple of hours. I even twittered about it. I could not believe how the incident consumed me and would not leave my thoughts. I had to make the thoughts stop!

I had to change my thinking... I knew that a fiction novel would not change the negative thinking to positive.

The approach the bus driver had taken got me to thinking about about my approach. Not just about the bus incident but in other everyday circumstances. Maybe the bus driver had a point about me not having to wave my arms so frantically. Maybe we both had to work on our approach. I know that her approach was not what I expected when the bus doors flew open.

Glancing at some titles in my husbands book collection, because all he has is none fiction titles. I picked up ' Positive Words, Powerful Results ' by Hal Urban.

I choose the book for the title, however that page selection was random, but quite suitable. The first three lines on page P53 were;

# 34- May 2 Walking

Walking home from the book store. ( could also take in the plastic them and the book theme, as the bags contain books but have chosen other pictures for those)

#35- May 9 In Memory

This picture could have worked for painted also. It is a ceramic item that my Mother painted a number of years back. I have chosen to use it for " In Memory" as It makes me think of my Grandfather. If you would like to read the poem I had written in his memory last 11/11 you may do so here, It is titled Dear Grandfather.

#36- May 16 Painted

Initially the Deck at my mom's had been painted. Which now requires scrapping every other spring. A lesson learned that should possibly stain the next deck?

#37- May 23 Plastic

A Plastic container was temporary home for Sally and Mander (not pictured). My daughter had a "Creepy Crawly" show and tell day at preschool. We went on bug hunt and found two Salamanders. Charlie named them Sally and Mander from his childhood memories. The two creepy crawlers were put back where they were found.

#38- May 30 Book(s)

These were the books Sarah had picked out and was happily walking home with in 'Walking' picture above.

Wow, I can not believe that I had missed so many weeks. My last PhotoHunt was of My Daughters Bike Incident/ Protection and Purple. Happy to say she is recovered. About a week later she did have a really bad muscle spasm in her neck, which required her to where a soft cervical collar and take some muscle relaxants for a few days. At the time of bike incident she made a decision not to ride a bike again. Two days ago she asked when I could fix her bike! Will be couple weeks before my body is repaired enough to fix a bike. Like I'm a bike fixer, I think I'll have it taken some where to ensure that the frame is still sound. Have a good weekend to all.

A nice place to recover from minor surgery, so that I am not tempted to do the "lift and hug, kiss on the forehead, I have such precious daughters" for a few days.

These are some pictures that I had taken Last summer while visiting My mom, Grammy Gail.

Sadly some of the pond fish are not with us this year as they did not survive the winter.

Being In Nova Scotia many gardens do feature a lobster pod. However don't expect shellfish on the menu during your stay. My mom is deathly allergic to the creatures

This is a ceramic bird house that I had painted. My Great Aunt Emily Had taught me dry brush techniques and I had my first experience with crackle finish. This activity is not included with Grammy Gail's rehabilitation retreat packages.

On the visit when pictures were taken my family accompanied me. Although they are not here in person they are in my thoughts.

Last years ice cream flavor was moonmist. The most fabulous Ice cream flavor ever.

Orange sherbet was on the menu last night. A Grocery clerk informed my stepfather(not pictured) that it tastes like orange pineapple ice cream. It does NOT!...Thankfully.

Lucas walked a s a survivor in 2008, which Inspired him to have his own Relay for Life Team in 2009, Where he will again walk as a survivor.

The relay is set for June 12, Lucas' team is based out of Kentville N.S.

I WILL be there!!!! My Hernia surgery is nothing compered to what the courageous Cancer survivors and there family have been through and why this relay is so important to show support to.

Is there any one who has not been effected By cancer.

My first and only online pledge Is from My Father.

My Father lost both his parents to cancer. I was only 8, My grandparents were important in my life and left the earth too soon. I was not allowed to go to my grandmothers funeral, my mother did not want me to see how the cancer had taken over her body. My grandparents were in their mid to late 60's, for grandparents that is young. These are some random wander thoughts of how cancer had effected me when I was Lucas' age.

Lucas is different, Lucas himself is a survivor. Shawna, his mother, follows a lot of cancer stories of children and during Lucas brain tumor battle has seen many cancer warriors fight so hard to beat the Ugly C. Some have While others have become precious Angels.

The C-Cell Blasters are Hoping for online pledges to reach 2,000 for the team, I would like to get to 100 for online pledges for myself.

This Is Kitty with her first encounter with stairs.

Being an indoor apartment Kitty she wasn't quite sure about them at first.

She wasn't quite sure about visiting a different house.
She hid until the familiar sounds of the children channel came on TV.

The Stairs turned out to be good exercise for her, racing up and down.

yesterday afternoon I was a little freaked out on way home from work When I was told my Daughter had a spill on her Bike. Mostly her KNee.

After looking more closely at her helmet I was very thankful She had it for protection and I had earlier in the week made sure it fit and straps were adjusted properly. Otherwise her knee would be the least of her worries.

If Emi Had not been wearing Her Helmet it would have been her forehead and left temple compressed on impact, rather than the inner foam of the helmet. Her impact to the ground was hard enough to cause the foam of the helmet to crack at the forehead, which is difficult to in these pictures.

Please inspect your Child's Sport Helmet before it's Next use. This Helmet is no longer usable as protection where the foam is compressed. It has served it's purpose but will be held onto as a reminder why head protection is important.

I was about to post when realized Protection is for next week. sorry. It may be against the photo hunt rules but I'm keeping it up as a reminder to check the helmets.

For those of us who want to harness the power of change, it's imperative that we return to the basics that made us successful in the first place. In Richard's case, he had stopped doing the things that had once made him such a high achiever.

When I reviewed Richard's skills and aptitudes, it was clear to me that he still had the capability for great success. He had strong verbal skills, a superior intellect, and an exceptional appearance. He held two university degrees and had completed some post graduate work. He'd held a range of positions, which afforded him vast experience. And yet, blaming others had halved his income and made his life miserable.

Well, I guess it's time to move on this morning.

Meimo- This is my purse. I'm quite sure it's from Barbie Boutique, it features orange piping and pompoms with an easy maintenance blue nylon.

I'll just organize and sort things out a bit.

Bear Starz- So Meimo, What's the most important thing in your purse?

Meimo- I would have to say that the most import item would be my doll? There can sometimes be long waits between takes. I'm kind of shy, believe it or not. So I like to run my lines with my doll. It's great, she's not critical if I don't get them right.

Bear Starz- What's the most embarrassing thing in your purse?

Meimo- Mmm... possibly the video tape from early in my career. An advertisement for bearnecessity bathroom tissue that included potty training tips. My mother forced me to do it. It was so embarrassing.

Bear Starz- And the smallest thing in your purse?

Meimo- That would be my crystal ball. I like to juggle it back an forth between my paws when I'm thinking. Sort of like tossing ideas around.

Bear Starz- Is there anything illegal in your purse?

Meimo- Illegal? I'm only 11. I do always have a BearBuzz energy drink on hand. It is all natural and sweetened with Honey. There was a brief moment in film history where honey was banned, but that was all sorted out by the end of the movie.

Bear Starz- Is there anyone you can think of that may be interested in being tagged to do the purse meme?

Meimo- Oh my. I could ask around. I'm not quite sure if Darcy and his friends actually carry a purse? Kitty has been on a couple of excursions lately. I know she doesn't have a purse.
