Saturday Wordzzle Challenge #10, PhotoHunt # 37: Rocks

The Saturday Wordzzle challenge hosted by Raven

Anyone new to the process can refer back here to find out how it works.

Ten Word Challenge: corn pone, delegation, nectarines, happiness, 12 going on 13, prancing horses, magenta, butterflies, fragmentary, arthritis

How could Shelby Lynne find happiness in 12 going on 13 with such fragmentary information about why she has to spend summer at Aunt Bessie’s. Her Aunt Bessie seems skillful with delegation, but does not complain about her arthritis when making her secret corn pone recipe. Shelby Lynne watched the butterflies on the magenta flowers while picking nectarines wishing she could be home with the prancing horses.

mini challenge: lavender cowboy, over the moon, preparation, zebra, area rug

Adjusting her lavender cowboy hat Shelby remembered when she was little and used to drape her Zebra print area rug over the teeter-totter to pretend she was jumping over the moon. Her imagination seemed to be preparation for joining the Junior Bengal Lancers.

Looking at the photos of the prancing horses, Shelby Lynne was over the moon to receive a box of belongings from her mother. Removing her Lavender cowboy hat she spread out her zebra print area rug. Taking a bite of the corn pone smeared with stewed nectarines, Shelby Lynne opened the magenta envelope to reveal writing paper with butterflies on the border and more fragmentary information. Reading about her mother’s involvement with the preparation of her uncles' estate, apparently complications from arthritis. Shelby Lynne questioned whether it was family delegation or an act of volunteering that kept her mother absent. Shelby Lynne was hoping to find a renewed happiness in 12 going on 13 while spending the summer at Aunt Bessie cabin.

Next week's 10 word challenge will be: riverboat, procrastination, drank, demons, invisible, candle, enough, film stars, summer job, computer

For the mini: general demeanor, invisible, masked man, reach, standards

My character Shelby Lynne and Aunt Bessie are inspired by the Portrait of Words pictures from here. I wrote for the Portrait of Words but not enough time to tweak it for post.

Walking to the bus stop with Emily I was surprised that my eye picked up on this.

12 going on 13 is a rough age under any circumstances. Like the way you worked the words in.
